David Strickland
Biography
Overview
David is a core member of the Firm’s Global Construction Industry Group, where he leads the Firm's construction initiatives focused on the United States and Canada. The team has successfully completed over $300B in projects throughout the United States and Canada.
David has extensive experience across the table from virtually every major contractor in the United States and Canada and is able to leverage his market knowledge to provide quick resolution to even the toughest issues. While most of his clients are focused on large, "bet the company" projects, David leverages his projects experience to assist start-up companies looking to deploy new technologies in the energy space.

Select experience includes advising:
International company in the greenfield development of a sugar refining facility in Canada including the Tolling, FEED, Technology Licensing, EPC and O&M Agreements and project financing for the facility that will serve a major Swiss chocolate manufacturer.
Water treatment company in relation to the joint venture formation and the design, construction, operation and financing of facilities in California and Texas that will receive oilfield produced water and purify it for beneficial reuse.
Orbia in its development and construction of a vinyl chloride monomer, chlor-alkali, and polyvinyl chloride plant in Louisiana. The representation is ongoing and has included the drafting and negotiation of process design, license, FEED, and equipment supply agreements.
Microsoft in its preparation of a standardized global framework agreement for its use in constructing data centers worldwide.
Novus International, Inc. with respect to analyzing key commercial agreements and advising Novus with respect to its production chain for the manufacture of animal feed supplements.
LNG company in the drafting and negotiation of an EPC agreement to develop its LNG export facility near Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada. The project is valued in excess of US$10 billion.
Oxy on the development of STRATOS, the world's largest Direct Air Capture (DAC) facility. Occidental has formed a joint venture with BlackRock Inc., the world's largest asset manager, in connection with the STRATOS project with BlackRock investing US$550 million into the joint venture
Developer in the construction and development of an e-fuels facility in Chile.
Calpine in the preparation and negotiation of several project contracts, including the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Agreement, the Equipment and Services Supply Agreement, and multiple Long-Term Services Agreements for a 680 MW battery storage facility in California that represents one of the largest stand-alone battery storage projects in the world.
Tallgrass Energy in the ongoing construction, development and financing of a world-scale US$ multibillion blue ammonia facility, including all licensing and construction matters.
Woodfibre LNG in connection with the preparation and negotiation of an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Agreement, a Fabrication Agreement, and a Project Coordination Agreement for the development of an LNG facility with a 2.1 million tons per annum production capacity in Canada.
A large US based energy company in a brownfield technology conversion for the company's existing petrochemical facilities. The representation is ongoing and includes drafting and providing negotiation advice with respect to a master services agreement with Technip and master construction agreement with Turner Industries Group.
AlphaStruxure, LLC in the development of a microgrid for one of Montgomery County, MD's public bus depots. Such representation included the negotiation of an EaaS with Montgomery County, MD, the associated construction and O&M agreements with third party contractors and operators as well as the associated financing from a private equity fund.
