For the second year in a row, global law firm White & Case LLP was recognized among a select group of firms having 50 percent or more women lawyers in their 2020 US-based new partner classes.

The Washington, DC-based think tank Diversity and Flexibility Alliance announced White & Case’s achievement at its annual conference on November 5, naming White & Case one among a select group of US law firms that are “Tipping the Scales” toward more equal representation of women in law.

The honor caps an outstanding year for women at White & Case, one in which 36 White & Case partners were named among the best women in business law, and in which the firm earned Mansfield certification, which the firm has achieved every year since the Mansfield program’s inception in 2018.

The Diversity & Flexibility Alliance identified White & Case as a firm that is tipping the scales in its annual New Partner Report, a compilation of public data released each year for the past nine years. This year’s report revealed that an average of 40.9 percent of new partners in 137 major US law firms in 2020 were women.

"We remain committed to increasing the number of women in our partnership through sponsorship, coaching, management support and other efforts focused on advancing our talented female attorneys," said White & Case partner Heather K. McDevitt (New York), a member of the firm’s Global Women's Initiative Committee. Chaired by partner Carina Radford (London), the initiative helps advance the Firm’s articulated global diversity and inclusion strategy.

"These firms have signaled their commitment to gender parity and their understanding of the value that women in leadership brings to their firm and clients," said Manar Morales, President and CEO of the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance.

The Diversity and Flexibility Alliance collaborates with organizations to develop non-stigmatized flexible work policies that promote inclusive work cultures and help to advance more women into leadership positions. The Alliance provides practical research-based solutions, training workshops, and strategic advisory services that increase organizational effectiveness through diversity and flexibility.
